On the day of the inauguration of the new U.S. president Donald Trump, when the First Lady once again became Melania Trump, born Melanija Knavs, a number of special events took place in her birthplace, Sevnica, as part of the Slovenian-American friendship.

Melania Trump has become a symbol of pride for Sevnica. From her childhood in this Slovenian village, which is rooted in winemaking, tradition, and hospitality, to her prominent status in American politics, her life is not only a personal story but also the story of the town that raised her. The events surrounding the inauguration were particularly significant in Sevnica.
In honor of the First Lady of the United States and with great pride that she hails from their town, the local people created the First Lady collection, which combines quality, tradition, and elegance that impresses.
Following the First Lady's Path
During the inauguration, several events were organized in Sevnica, including a free tour called Following the First Lady’s Path, where tourists could learn about the parts of Sevnica where Donald Trump’s wife spent her childhood.The tourists also stopped at the famous local pastry shop, which served them Melania’s cake.
At Sevnica Castle, there was also an exhibition featuring products named First Lady. In collaboration with local producers, they could sample First Lady pie, presidential burgers, and sparkling wine from local growers.
In the evening, the Sevnica Rotary Club organized a Slovenian-American evening of fine cuisine. The event was attended by representatives of the U.S. Embassy and companies collaborating with American businesses, local politicians, and others. On this occasion, the Breda Derek Sotošek Foundation was also established, raising money for talented children from the region.
The brand combines products that speak of Sevnica's beauty
The Blue Frankinja wine variety is an indigenous grape variety from the heart of Posavje and one of the most important red varieties in the region. Its characteristics include freshness, fruitiness, fullness, and richness. Symbolically, it represents the "first lady among wines.The harmony of taste and quality convinces even the most demanding wine lovers.
The unique cup for beverages combines simplicity and elegance. The ceramic pottery is made from high-quality clay sourced locally. It is hand-crafted on a pottery wheel and is a product of local craftsmanship. The glaze contains no toxic substances and is safe for food contact.
The collection also includes a beauty cream. This natural royal refreshment, for both him and her, contains a combination of natural oils as well as beeswax.
Dried apple pieces (apple cores) have been made from the old variety of pear-shaped apples typical of the Sevnica area. This apple used to grow under Sevnica Castle long ago.
The collection also features dark chocolate with walnuts and pieces of gold, as well as dark chocolate with raspberry flavor. There are also Blue Frankinja chocolate pralines.
No royal collection would be complete without tea. This tea has the taste of apple strudel – the taste of home, Slovenia, and includes a blend of Slovenian teas: lime, anise, rosehip, melissa, mallow, apple, elderflower, and more.
A small town on the big map
Sevnica is a beautiful town in Slovenia, combining natural beauty and cultural heritage. It is located along the Sava river and offers charming views of the river, green hills, and mountains in the background. Anyone visiting this small town to walk along the First Lady's Path should also take the opportunity to explore the rest of Slovenia.
