Judoka Andreja Leški secured Slovenia's first Olympic medal in Paris by winning gold in the women's under 63 kg category. She defeated Mexico's Prisca Awiti Alcaraz.
Earlier in the quarter-finals, Leški had defeated Canada's Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard, a bronze medallist in Tokyo, and Clarisse Agbegnenou of France in the semi-finals.
