Janja Garnbret Wins Her Second Olympic Gold Medal

Janja Garnbret is without doubt Slovenia's and the world's top climber, today she won Olympic gold medal in Paris 2024.
She secured her first gold in the combined event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

Janja was involved in climbing from an early age, but also in dancing. However, climbing became her greater passion, and now she only dances on the wall. Her movements are always graceful, although Janja is also an exceptionally powerful athlete.

By the end of primary school, Janja had climbed her way into the ranks of the Slovenian youth national team, and she crowned her first season in the national colours by winning the titles of European Youth Champion in both lead and bouldering. Since then, Janja has only continued to fulfil her dreams.

She is aware that reaching the top means that, as a professional athlete, she must also maintain her form to achieve the best results. She feels a great responsibility in being a role model for many young climbers today. Janja is confident that climbing will soon become the most popular sport.
Janja not only draws attention in the field of climbing but also garners accolades elsewhere.

The Slovenian Association of Sports Journalists named her Athlete of the Year in 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2023. Additionally, at the beginning of 2019, she was awarded the Bloudek Award for outstanding international achievement, and in 2021, she received the Golden Order of Merit in sports. She has also won gold and silver medals at World and European Championships.
