Melania Trump, born in Slovenia, is to become America’s First Lady for the second time. Her first stay in the White House was dedicated to children, and she will undoubtedly face new challenges this time around.

Melania Trump, than Melanija Knavs, is born in Sevnica on April 26,1970.

It's a town on the left bank of the Sava River in central Slovenia. The old town of Sevnica lies beneath Sevnica Castle, which is perched on top of Castle Hill. The company Lisca, one of the largest lingerie companies in Europe, is based in town. Another important company is the furniture manufacturing company Stilles.

At age 16, she began what would soon become a highly successful modeling career in Milan and Paris before continuing her career in the United States. Melania married Donald Trump in 2005, and in 2006, she gave birth to their son, Barron.

She has never forgotten her Slovenian roots; her son also speaks Slovenian, and both of them hold dual citizenship.
