From 15 to 25 February, Slovenia is overcome by the spirit of Shrovetide merriment. Many more or less traditional Shrovetide carnivals and parades are held across the country. More than 100,000 visitors, 1,000 kurenti and 7,000 group carnival masks from 15 countries and three continents are expected at 180 events.
