"For the 23rd year in a row, we will bring to Piran world-renowned musicians who recreate Baroque music and will perform in historical ambiences the musical works of Piran-born Giuseppe Tartini and his contemporaries.
The festival is important not only because it preserves and promotes the musical heritage of this great composer, but also because it strengthens the cultural identity of the city of Piran, establishes new cultural links and offers exceptional concerts to guests and locals alike. One of the undoubted highlights of the festival is when world-famous soloists play Tartini's original violin.
This year we will hear the famous violin in three concerts, which is a great honour for the musicians too," say Jasna Nadles and Milan Vrsajkov, Artistic Directors and driving forces behind the Festival since its inception, adding, that "despite the financial challenges, they are committed to sharing Giuseppe Tartini's rich musical legacy with local and international audiences, and would like to see more decentralisation of funding, including from the relevant ministry, because the Tartini Festival depends on this kind of systemic support, as it is not necessarily commercial in nature.
