Winter ice skating rinks in Slovenia

Most ice skating rinks opened in early December, when cities and towns ceremoniously switched on their festive lights. Above Ljubljana’s Aleja shopping centre, you can skate atop the city on a 1,000 m2 ice rink with a 140 m long ice track.

The ice rink on Pogačar Square will open in mid-January, while in Ljubljana you can also skate at the Tivoli and Zalog ice rinks, and for the first time there is also an ice rink at the Ljubljana Zoo. 

Visit Ptuj and skate on the fairy-tale ice rink in the town's market square. Children will love the carousel, which makes the visit even more magical.  The architecture of Slovenia's oldest town, illuminated by festive lights, will add to the unforgettable experience.

Charming Celje invites you to watch The Kingdom of Fairytales, a show on ice performed at the ice rink in Celje City Park.  

The ice rink in Ruše Sports Park, which has 800 m2 of floor space, is just a few kilometres from Maribor and is the perfect choice for ice skating with friends or family.

Experience the festive Novo mesto. On the Main Square in the centre of the town, embraced by the Krka River, the ice rink came to life when the town’s December lights were switched on.
