With its largest ever delegation at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, Slovenia is reaffirming its status as a nation of world-class athletes. There is no doubt that they will excel once again. Slovenia is both a world sporting phenomenon and a sporting superpower.
The Slovenian athletes who will represent us in Paris presented themselves in Koper on Thursday 11 July 2024. The impressive turnout of fans demonstrated once again that all Slovenians have a sporting heart.
Olympic Games
The 33rd Summer Olympics will take place from 26 July to 11 August in the French capital, where 90 Slovenian athletes – 44 women and 46 men – will compete in 17 disciplines. This is the highest number of athletes in the history of Slovenian Olympic teams.
There are 40 athletes representing team sports and 50 others. The most numerous individual teams are in athletics (7), sailing, judo and road cycling (each 6), swimming (5) and kayaking (4).
They will strive to continue adding to the great tally of medals from past summer and winter Olympic Games (76).

Paralympic Games
At the 17th Summer Paralympic Games, which start on 28 August and end on 8 September, 14 Slovenian athletes will compete in four disciplines. To date, Slovenian Paralympic athletes have won 52 medals, 51 of them at Summer Paralympics. The Slovenian Paralympic team, headed in Paris by Boro Štrumbelj, includes a total of 15 coaches, assistants, physiotherapists, doctors and other support staff.
Paris Olympic apparel collection
This time, the fashion collection merges Parisian chic with the Slovenian Olympic spirit, designed by Sandi Murovec. The Slovenian athletes will be dressed in a sophisticated dark blue and grey combination, complemented by the timeless charm of a French beret.
Slovenia will use Paris for better networking opportunities
Athletes are our best ambassadors. The Olympic and Paralympic Games are also an opportunity to showcase Slovenia politically, economically, culturally and as a tourist destination. The Slovenia House in Paris will host a series of events with the participation of the Slovenian Government Communication Office, the Slovenian Tourist Board, Spirit and other organisations. The events will also be attended by leading politicians and businessmen and successful athletes, including several Olympic medallists.
