More than just a sporting event
Historically known as the Golden Fox, the competition has captivated skiing enthusiasts on Mariborsko Pohorje for decades, where it was last held in 2019. However, due to unfavourable weather conditions, especially a lack of snow, it has been relocated to Kranjska Gora fourteen times throughout its history, with Kranjska Gora officially becoming the competition's official venue in 2024.
For many years, Kranjska Gora has hosted top-level races – initially for male skiers, but in recent years the Ski Association of Slovenia has also strived to stage a women's event.
Each edition of the event reflects years of expertise and exceptional teamwork by the organising committee, the local community, volunteers and partners, all with the aim of providing an outstanding experience for female athletes and visitors.
The event is of great importance for Slovenian female skiers, the local club and the local community. It is a celebration of skiing, social connection and the creation of memorable experiences. Moreover, it is a source of the national pride for Slovenians.
