The United Nations General Assembly declared 24 January the International Day of Education with the aim to emphasize the role of education for peace and development. Education is a human right, a public good and a public responsibility.
In the 2021/22 school year, almost 84% of children of the appropriate age were enrolled in kindergartens in Slovenia. There were 195,414 pupils in basic education, 75,414 pupils in upper secondary education, and 81,715 students in tertiary education.
