The name itself indicates her homeland. The Gorenjska prata- bread stuffing is related to one of the most important religious holidays, Easter. Traditional preparation dictates roasting in pigskin it is also possible to bake it in the dough. Here, too, it is about consuming the leftovers of some traditional Easter dishes.



35 dag cooked smoked ham

55 dagEaster bread leftovers

small onion

1 dl fresh cream

1 tbsp pork fat

6 eggs

Salt, pepper, fresh parsley, garlic, cumin, fresh chives


Slice the ham and chop the bread into small pieces.

Fry the onion in the grease and add to the mass.

Pour over the water of the ham and mix.

Add egg yolks, cream, chopped fresh and dried spices.

Beat the egg whites; add to the mixture right before placing into a baking dish.

Bake in the oven at 160’C for 30 min.

Leave to cool for about 1 hour, and then cut into slices.

Can be served with horseradish.
